Innovation for health
ZIWIG, diagnostic innovation for women's health
In 2022, Sothema acquired a stake in Ziwig, a European startup revolutionizing medical diagnostics with sophisticated, reliable devices accessible to healthcare professionals. Combining molecular biology and artificial intelligence, Ziwig's diagnostic devices pave the way for earlier, personalized treatment of long-misdiagnosed diseases such as endometriosis.
Insulin, a national pride
Since 1983, Sothema has been the only insulin-producing laboratory in Morocco - a pioneering role that has helped lay the foundations for the country's health sovereignty, in partnership with the government and other stakeholders.
OLIPEN, Morocco's first boosted antibiotic
Developed in 2022 by ASD, Sothema's biopharmaceutical and biotechnology research center in Bouskoura, Olipen is a combination of amoxicillin, clavulanic acid and cineole, designed to treat resistant infections.
Therapeutic cannabis
Sothema is one of the first Moroccan laboratories to commit to the development of medical cannabis, with an exclusively therapeutic approach and a rigorous requirement comparable to that applied to any other medicine.
In 2023, the Group has launched a project to build an integrated supply chain, from planting to formulation.
